About the product

What is The Salve? The Salve is a thick, balm-style skin care product made from botanical oils and beeswax. It's designed for everyday use on dry or rough skin: hands, elbows, lips, heels, cuticles.

Is it all-natural? Yes. Every ingredient is plant-derived or naturally sourced: olive oil, shea butter, beeswax, and eight botanical herbs we infuse ourselves. We use no synthetic fragrances, no petroleum products, and no artificial preservatives.

What does it smell like? The salve's primary aromas are lavender and blue sage, with rosemary and bergamot woven in underneath. It smells like something that was made in a kitchen with real plants — herbal and grounded, not perfumed.

Is it tested on animals? Never. We don't conduct or commission animal testing of any kind.

Can I use it on my face? Many customers do, but we formulate it for the entire body: hands, elbows, and feet especially. We recommend doing a small patch test first if you have sensitive skin.

Can I use it on my hair? Yes, it is great as an overnight leave-in conditioner.

Is it good for men? ABSOLUTELY! Men love it post-shaving and to slick back their hair.

Skin types and safety

Is it safe for sensitive skin? The salve formulated with sensitive skin in mind. That said, individual reactions vary. We recommend a patch test: apply a small amount to the inside of your wrist and wait 24 hours before using it more broadly.

Is it safe during pregnancy? We have had several customers report that the salve helps with skin stretching, skin marks, and sore cracked breasts but we always recommend checking with your healthcare provider before introducing any new product during pregnancy.

Ordering and shipping

Where do you ship? We currently ship within the United States. International shipping is not available yet.

How long does shipping take? Orders typically ship within 2–3 business days. Standard shipping takes 4–7 business days after that. Expedited shipping is available at checkout.

Do you offer free shipping? Yes — free standard shipping on orders over $60. All bundles of three or more tins ship free. See our order page for bundle options and pricing.

What if my order arrives damaged? Please email us at hello@boisvertburke.com with a photo within 7 days of delivery and we'll make it right.

Returns

Do you accept returns? Because our products are applied to skin, we are unable to accept returns of opened jars for health and safety reasons. If your order arrived damaged or you received the wrong item, we'll replace it at no charge, just reach out.
